Eastern Sports Culture

Write for us

We welcome considered pitches about the culture around sport in eastern regions: clubs, grounds, supporter customs, sporting traditions and community life. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What fits

A strong pitch has a clear subject, a reason it matters to readers and a sensible scope. It might explain how a sporting place is used, trace the background of a custom, compare two ways communities organise an event, or examine how a club practice has changed. Keep the focus on culture and context rather than professional medical, legal or financial advice.

What to include

Tell us the proposed angle, the main points you would cover and what reliable material could support the piece. Note any firsthand access, relevant connections or commercial interests. Do not send confidential information or assume that a proposal will be accepted, commissioned or published.

How to pitch

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title and a concise outline in your message. We consider proposals for clarity, originality, relevance and evidence; a pitch should stand on its own without invented credentials or claims.

Our point of view

Sport is made by more than players

Rules shape a contest, but places, customs and people give it a local life. We look at those connections without losing sight of the details.
