Editorial policy

Eastern Sports Culture aims to make sporting culture clear, accurate and fair. We explain what supports a claim, correct errors openly and keep commercial material distinct from editorial work.

Accuracy and context

We check names, dates and factual claims against appropriate sources before publication. Context matters: a club custom or ground feature may be particular to one place, so we avoid presenting it as typical of a whole region without support. If evidence is incomplete or disputed, we describe that uncertainty rather than smoothing it away.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for reader interest and relevance to our subject. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable account, a guaranteed mention or control over editorial conclusions. We distinguish explanation and reporting from promotional material.

Corrections

Readers can send a correction through the Contact page. We review specific, checkable concerns, update text when warranted and make the nature of a significant correction clear. We do not promise that every disagreement will change an article, but we will consider evidence carefully.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can recognise its commercial context. Partner placements are kept distinct from editorial articles. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that is the case, they are treated as illustrations, not photographs or proof of an event.

Our point of view

Sport is made by more than players

Rules shape a contest, but places, customs and people give it a local life. We look at those connections without losing sight of the details.
